Inspection
- Is the ALDIS lamp ready for immediate use?
- Is the lamp able to be operated by both power from ship main and rechargeable battery?
- Is the reflective panel free of cracks?
- Are there three (3) spare bulbs available?
- Is the battery kept charged?
- Is the date of battery replacement recorded / marked?
- Is the battery voltage being checked at regular intervals?
- Is the lamb clearly marked with manufacturer ID, model, serial number, voltage and power consumption?
Common Poor Practices
- The ALDIS lamp was not ready for immediate use.
- Only two spare bulbs were available.
- The battery was not charged.
- The reflective panel had signs of crack.
- Power outlets located in bridge wings found out of order.
- Power outlet's cup found frozen.
