Checks Prior Oil Cargo Operation
Ensure that...
1) The sea chest & overboard valves are closed and blanked. The valves shall be sealed by Cargo Surveyor.
2) The O2 content in all COT is less than 8% by volume.
3) High level (95%) & High High level (98%) alarms have been tested.
4) P/R bilge alarms have been tested.
5) Hydraulic system is in good condition.
6) The hydraulic pump is working properly. The oil level in tank must be sufficient.
12) The hydraulic valves are working proprely. The open / close times must be within the range as per manufacturer.
11) The P/R fans are working properly.
12) P/V valves are working properly.
13) Venting secondary means are working properly.
14) Mast Riser and Breather valve are in good order.
15) IG Deck Seal water level is normal.
16) P/V Breaker water level is normal.
17) The gas detection instruments have been calibrated.
18) The UTIs' are working properly.
19) The wilden pumps are working properly.
20) The SLOP tanks dump valves are in good condition.
21) The dump valve pipes are filled with water.
22) The anti-pollution & fire fighting equipment is in good condition and ready for immediate use.
23) All pressure and temperature gauges are working properly.
24) All deck lights are in good order.
25) All the unused manifolds are closed and blanked and the pressure gauges uncovered in order to realize possible manifold valves leakage.
26) All openings to cargo, ballast and bunker tanks are closed and gas tight.
27) ISGOTT Ship / Shore Safety Check list is completed.
28) Vessel is complied with Terminal additional requirements.
Additional checks prior loading operation
1) Ballast pumps are working properly.
2) Ballast pumps trip alarms have been tested from all points.
3) Water ballast surface has been checked visually for oil traces. Sample must be taken from FPT. Ensure that there is properly sampling device on board.
Additional checks prior discharging operation
1) Cargo / COW / MARPOL lines have been pressure tested to normal working pressure without any sign of leakage
2) Cargo & Ballast pumps are working properly.
3) Cargo & Ballast pumps trip alarms have been tested from all points.
4) Cargo pumps temperature trip alarms have been tested.
5) The Inert Gas System has been tested and is in good working order.
6) The O2 analyzer must be calibrated not more than 24 hours before operation.
7) All IG individual tank valves to be opened & locked. The keys should be kept by Chief Officer or responsible OOW.
8) Pre-Discharging / COW plan to be completed.
9) COW check list to be completed.
