Inspection

• Are the lines free of leakages?
• Are the lines free rust & pitting corrosion?
• Are the lines free of wasted parts?
  
• Are the lines free of bents?
• Is the hydraulic oil suitable for the minimum anticipated temperatures?
• Is a heater or other means of heating being provided for the hydraulic oil used in hydraulic-operated cargo hatches (applicable for Bulk Carrier ships)?

Maintenance

• The corroded parts to be de-rusted and painted.
• Wasted parts to be cropped and renewed.
• The bent parts to be straighten.
• Teflon and lead sheets might be installed on the touch points and under the U-bolts respectively.
