Deck Seal Inspection
- Is the Deck Seal being inspected / maintained periodically as per PMS system?
- Have high and low level alarms been tested before inert gas operation? Is there evidence of such tests?
- Is the Deck Seal free of corrosion, both internally & externally?
- Are the drain and supply valves in good working condition?
- Are the strainers in good condition and cleaned?
- Is the heating coil (if applicable) free of corrosion?
- Is the sight glass cleaned and free of cracks?
- Is the water level clearly visible?
- Is the water at the normal level?
- Is the normal water level marked?
- Is the date of last inspection marked?
Non Return Valve Inspection / Overhauling
- Is the NRV being inspected / overhauled periodically as per PMS system?
- It the NRV operative & movable?
- Is the NRV free of corrosion?
- Is the valve's seat in good condition?
- Is the date of last inspection marked?
Common Poor Practices
- Deck Seal level was not normal.
- Deck Seal was not marked with the minimum level.
- Deck Seal was leaking from the sight glass.
- Deck Seal was sighted with soft patches.
